DIY Southern Seasoning Recipe

I like the flavour of KFC but I I’m not too keen on fried food. So I decided to have a go at my own seasoning. The flavour was delicious I used mine on chicken but you could add it to almost anything. It tastes so much better than shop bought southern seasoning as the flavours are much fresher.

Ingredients (makes around 10 tbsp)

  • 2 tsp black peppercorns
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp dried tarragon, oregano and thyme
  • 1/2 tbsp dried rosemary and thyme
  • 1/2 tbsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tbsp paprika

Directions

  1. Add all of the ingredients into a spice or coffee grinder. Blitz to a fine powder.
